Being you is hard.
Seeing someone being cool (define it yourself) or good, we intended to copy them. It is fine if we are following their good attitude but the bad one? DUH!
I know it is hard to remain who we truly are. We tend to change according to our surrounding. Being human is all about changes.Sometimes good, sometimes bad.
For good example: I am lazy to fast on Monday or Thursday. On the other hand, Ummi, which is older about 30 years than me, manage to do so, without complaining. So...I've got to copy her.
For bad example: Say, nowadays saying something rude somewhat seems to be fine. Matured, they say . As a matter of fact, when someone doesn't say any of it, they are aliened. Therefore, just to be part of them,we gradually change the way we talk.
This occurs to me.
This may occur to you.
This may occur to anybody.
Since we are all human.
" Always be a first- rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else."
Judy Garland
Allah never look us from the outside, he evaluate us by the inside.
Leave what makes you feel bad and do what you feel good .
According to the Quran and Sunnah, of course.
"By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it;
And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;
Truly he succeeds that purifies it,
And he fails that corrupts it!"
As-Syams : (7-10)
May Allah bless us , forever, always.
